TOGETHER, WE

INSPIRE

For more than 100 years, Rotary has connected leaders committed to applying their expertise to better their communities and the world.

HISTORY

Our local Horizon West club history began in 2018, but Rotary itself was founded in 1905 by Chicago attorney Paul Harris so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. This concept evolved over time into one of seeking opportunities to help in humanitarian efforts across the world such as promoting peacebuilding and helping to eradicate polio.

The Horizon West Rotary is a membership-based civic organization with like-minded community members making a difference. Rotary International is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers.

2021

The first official changing of the guard occurred in July 2021, shortly after in-person meetings returned in May.

2020

In its first full year, and despite the challenges of COVID, our club has successfully served in initiatives and partnerships with organizations including An Apple a Day, The Gina McReynolds Foundation, Bears Who Care, Gift of Swimming, Miles to Go, Habitat for Humanity, One Heart for Women and Children, The Cast Member Pantry and Maxey Elementary School.

2019

20 members are needed to officially charter a club and in just a few short months a record-breaking 60+ members joined, enabling the Rotary Club of Horizon West to officially be chartered in May of 2019.

2018

A small group of Horizon West residents, craving connections with local like-minded people with a heart for service, said "what-if?" and started the process of making our local club a reality.
